Trump et. al. vs. Animals

by Laurie Rigelhaupt

The Trump administration poses a danger to our wildlife. H.R. 1897 is an anti-wildlife bill sponsored by Rep. Bruce Westerman (R- AR). If passed, it would erode the protections of the Endangered Species Act (passed in 1973), affecting thousands of creatures and their habitats. Wolves, panthers, bears, otters, manatees, loggerhead sea turtles, and others could suffer and die. In a recent poll, 85% of Americans said that they support ESA measures to prevent extinctions. I am among the 85%, and I support these measures in terms of ethics.
