The documentary film that tells the story of researchers who trace the origins of the Christian anti-gay movement to a mistranslation of the Bible in 1946 and casts doubt on a biblical basis for LGBTQIA+ prejudice.

About “1946: The Mistranslation that Shifted Culture”

According to the FBI, anti-LGBTQIA+ hate crimes have risen sharply, with a 13.8% increase in reports based on sexual orientation and a 32.9% increase in reported hate crimes based on gender identity. Why is there so much bias and hatred toward this community? According to “1946,” a mistranslation of the Bible is at least partly to blame.
