The historical narrative of Sally Hemings, unacknowledged wife of Thomas Jefferson, has been misrepresented for political purposes for more than 200 years.

By means of modern science, archaeology, and adroit historical sleuthing, the real story of this mixed race woman of intelligence and agency can now be told.
