The Ethical Culture Society of Westchester is a co-sponsor of the Westchester MLK Institute’s annual youth conference at Manhattanville College. Youth and adults are invited to participate in this day long event with a focus on learning skills and tools as alternatives to violence in conflict situations.

This year’s theme is “Tools for Positive Change.”

Workshops are:
Knowing Your Rights in a Police Encounter, and
Basic Skills for Resolving Conflict.

Keynote speaker, Sophine Charles, Ph.D. Dr. Charles has dedicated her professional life to empowering parents, educating the educators, training the trainers, helping incarcerated citizens transition back into our communities, and supporting the professional leadership development of police personnel. She maintains a footprint in several disciplines–child welfare, higher education, criminal justice, mentoring, and community services.

And a musical presentation from Lord Judah and H.I.P H.O.P, who recently released their new CD, “Accountability”. (www.lordjudah.com)
