In an article published in The Wall Street Journal in 2018, Paul Irving of the Milken Institute for the Future of Aging noted that:
Loneliness is a growing public health problem—a hidden epidemic threatening our well-being, and even our livelihood. One-third of Americans over age 45 feel lonely, according to AARP.
And that was before the coronavirus pandemic disrupted our social activities.
In his talk, “The Epidemic of Loneliness,” ECSW member Jonathan Larsen will speak to the hardships of loneliness and ways to address those hardships in our own lives and in our communities.
Jonathan Larsen is Director of Operations at Compass Care LLC, a concierge home care company serving New York City, Westchester County and Fairfield Connecticut. Jonathan is also a Certified Nursing Assistant who has worked as a caregiver for clients with a range of conditions.
