The Ethical Society is a nontheistic organization whose members are primarily Humanist, agnostic, atheist, or freethinker in their perspective yet are often engaging with others who espouse traditional religious beliefs in their work for social justice and social caring. While this is in keeping with the aspiration, “Diversity in Creed, Unanimity in Deed,” the actual experience may be complicated for all concerned. ECSW’s Leader, Bart Worden, will speak about experiences with people from varied religious backgrounds and efforts to build solidarity across the religious spectrum – begining with coming to terms with our own internal divides.
