Well before the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic, our social connections were wearing thin. Club membership, attendance at religious services, engagement with volunteer organizations have been in decline for decades and people have spent increasing amounts of time in solitary pursuits such as viewing social media. The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly boosted that trend toward isolation causing people to make big adjustments in their routines. Now that many people are vaccinated or planning to get vaccinated we face new challenges in negotiating our social interactions.

ECSW’s Leader, Bart Worden, will try to disentangle the complicated and interweaving barriers to social engagement and offer ideas for getting around them.
