Westchester for Change

Presents:

EDUCATIONAL INEQUALITY: A NEW YORK STATE REGENT’S VIEW

WITH FEATURED SPEAKER: REGENT JUDITH JOHNSON

For all the public concern about testing, teacher evaluations and curriculum in regards to New York public schools, a larger issue is often forgotten—educational inequality. Regent Johnson will discuss the characteristics that define public schools, sharing the implications for our democracy if these characteristics are left unaddressed, and inviting us to consider strategies to fulfill the state’s mission of offering all students the opportunity to be prepared to participate as members of a democratic society.
