InterreligiousPrayerService2014On Sunday, February 2nd, ECSW was host of the 10th Annual Interreligious Prayer Service for Peace and Justice Representatives of Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, Muslim, Jewish, Sikh, Baha’i, Christian, Native American and, for the first time, Humanist, traditions came together to recite universal prayers or statements for peace and justice. Our Leader, Bart Worden, represented Ethical Humanism with a reading of an Algernon Black invocation and also was the leader for community songs sung in commemoration of Pete Seeger.

The event celebrated World Interfaith Harmony Week, proclaimed by a U.N. General Assembly resolution to promote understanding and tolerance among all religious traditions and beliefs.
