Community Forum on Police Body Worn Cameras
Monday, March 7th at 6:30pm
Eastview Middle School Auditorium
350 Main Street
White Plains, NY 10601

The Westchester Coalition for Police Reform is hosting a community forum on the topic of police body worn cameras on Monday, March 7th at 6:30pm at the Eastview Middle School auditorium located at 350 Main Street in White Plains, NY.  Panelists include Peekskill Police Chief Johansen, Greenburgh Police Chief McNerney, Ossining Police Chief Sylvester, Regional Organizer with NYCLU LHV Chapter, Guisela Marroquin, and Ian Head, Legal Worker at the Center for Constitutional Rights.

The WCPR would like to learn from law enforcement and educate the public on the guidelines regarding when officers are instructed to activate the camera, and under what circumstances are officers prohibited from activating thecameras? What are the consequences for officers for not following these policies and procedures?  Also, how is the upload/storage/retrieval managed?
Would law enforcement consent to giving the NY State Attorney’s office access to the body camera footage?  These are the sorts of issues we will be exploring on March 7th.

This event is free and open to the public.  Light refreshments will be served.  Free parking is available on site. For more information, please contact Rev. Doris K. Dalton, Director of the Westchester Martin Luther King, Jr. Institute for Nonviolence and Convener of the Westchester Coalition for Police Reform at 914.949.6555 or mlkwestchester@gmail.com.
